Trip to France

Bonjour (Hello)! Some facts about France: 1. French, founded in 843, is one of the oldest states in Europe 2. French is the largest European country in terms of land after Russia and Ukraine 3. On an average there are about 3 cooking books get published in France everyday 4. French people are biggest consumers of medicine in Europe Day 1 (02nd April 2010) As this was our first Europe trip, we were very excited of our visit to France. We toured with Kishor and Swathi. Day started quite early as our EuroStar train from Kings Cross was at 7:27AM, Had to get up as early as 3:00AM to travel from Reading and London to be on time. I was very much looking forward to travel in EuroStar especially the journey via the tunnel but was quite disappointed as it didn't feel any better than our First Great Western train. Only I could say is travel via the tunnel gave us good long pitch dark moments with lot of discomforts to our ears. Anyways, reached Paris - 'Gore -Du Nord'

Trip to Spain - Barcelona

Hola (Hello), Facts about Spain: 1.  The capital city of Spain is Madrid and  is the greenest capital in Europe. The city enjoys more sunny days than almost any other city in Europe 2. Nudity is absolutely legal in Spain. One will find a lot of nudist beaches scattered through the coas t. We did see this!! 3.  If you are invited to somebodies home and you want to compliment your host on delicious food, you should accept the second serving. But in this case you need to be 100% sure that you are able to finish it. 4. The most controversial sport in Spain is bullfighting. Day 1 (28th May 2010) Our first day was just occupied in travelling from London to Spain. Our flight from London Heathrow to Geneva (Switzerland) was at 2:00PM and then from Geneva to Spain at 6:20PM. Reached our Spain tourist location Barcelona at 7:45PM. Trip to Austria

Guten tag (Hello)!, Some facts of Austria: 1. Austrian flag is one of the oldest flags in the world, it dates from 1191 2. 62% of the Austria's land is covered by Austrian Alps 3. The world's largest emerald is displayed in Imperial Treasury in Vienna Day 1 (27th August 2010) As we had early morning 7:25AM flight to Munich (Frankfurt) from London Heathrow, we left our home at 4:45AM to catch the pre-booked Rail Air. Reached Munich at around 10:15AM and then caught another flight to Graz, Austria. Flight to Graz was the smallest flight that I travelled with. I think, it was able to accommodate max 20-25 passengers. We reached Graz at around 12:30PM. Our friend Suchi and her husband were waiting just outside the airport for us. Friends' milana after 15 years!! Since, our plan was to stay in their home and do sightseeings for couple of days, directly travelled to their home from the Airport. Trip to Lake district

Day 1 (27th May 2011) Hebbar family and we traveled from Reading at around 11:30AM. As Birmingham temple is on the way to Lake District, we planned to visit. Unfortunately, when we reached it was closed after its morning Pooja. What to do, just bought Laddu as Prasadam and headed towards Penrith in the lake district. Had to face huge traffic congestion on M40 and witnessed serious accidents. This traffic delayed our final destination of the day by 1.5 hours. Reached our beautiful self-serving cottage at around 5:00PM. After settling for a while we all went to Morrisons to do grocery shopping which was necessary for our 3 days tour.  Day 2 (28th May 2011) Cooked breakfast and had a very relaxing breakfast in our own time. Trip to Amsterdam

Hallo (hello)! Facts about Amsterdam: 1. Amsterdam is one of the capitals with most museums in the world 2. Amsterdam has more canals than venice 3. Amsterdam has more bike than it's population 4.  Amsterdam is well below sea level and at the lowest point of Amsterdam it is 6.7 meters below sea level Day 1(22nd April 2011) This time we toured with Kishor and Chethan families, nice to have big group. We travelled in Eurostar till Brussels from Kings Cross and took another train from Brussels to Amsterdam Central. Reached Amsterdam at around 2:00PM. Had our lunch in the Amsterdam Central station and then bought group cruise ticket for the evening. With the plan set for rest of the day, reached our Hotel Arena via the Indian themed tube. Tube was very nice and neatly maintained. Checked in to our hotel, took some rest with beers. And then all decked up fro evening Amsterdam Cruise trip. Switzerland

Guten Tag (Hello)! Finally I decided to blog our well relished Swiss tour. I hope you enjoy reading it. Some facts about Swiss before starting the blog: 1. Its situated in Western Europe, bordered by Germany to the north, France to the west, Italy to the south, and Austria and Liechtenstein to the east. So, we find different spoken languages across Swiss - French, German, Italian and Romansch 2. Neither Geneva nor Zurich is the capital of Swiss, it's Bern 3. Swiss is the birthplace of Redcross 4. Well known tennis players Roger Federer and Martina Hingis are from Swiss Day 1 (09 September 2011) The tour started pretty early (too early for Satty!) from Hebbar's house as we had to catch the flight from Gatwick Airport at 8:15AM. Flight journey wasn't long at all, it took shorter time than the time it takes me to reach office. With a beautiful bird's-eye view of Geneva Lake, landed at Geneva airport before noon.
