Trip to Lake district

Day 1 (27th May 2011)
Hebbar family and we traveled from Reading at around 11:30AM. As Birmingham temple is on the way to Lake District, we planned to visit. Unfortunately, when we reached it was closed after its morning Pooja. What to do, just bought Laddu as Prasadam and headed towards Penrith in the lake district. Had to face huge traffic congestion on M40 and witnessed serious accidents. This traffic delayed our final destination of the day by 1.5 hours. Reached our beautiful self-serving cottage at around 5:00PM. After settling for a while we all went to Morrisons to do grocery shopping which was necessary for our 3 days tour.

Day 2 (28th May 2011)
Cooked breakfast and had a very relaxing breakfast in our own time. At 11:00AM we all started our started seeing in pre-booked 7 seater vehicle. Just had a drive towards William Wandsworth village in rainy weather. Had our lunch in the same village and just decided to go for a drive around the lake district and enjoy the scenery. during our drive, we came across beautiful bridges, valleys, and lakes.

Enjoyed mother nature with some photos and walks. In the evening we drove towards Keswick village and then back to our cottage at 9:00PM. Cooked dinner and ended the day with some card games

Day 3 (29th May 2011)
As usual, prepared some breakfast and started our sightseeing at 10:00AM. The first sight seeing was at Ullswater falls.
Ullswater falls

Though it was a very rainy day, we climbed to the top of the falls with all jokes and pranks. Badly wanted some hot drinks to cheer up our wet bodies.  Luckily coffee shop near the falls served us great drinks. In the afternoon we went to Windermere village and Ambleside Lake. Took a boat ride from Ambleside to Bowness.

After lunch, we started our unknown destination journey around the lake district. Enjoyed the scenery and played like kids in the freezing water of the lakes that we came across on our unknown journey. As a final destination of the tour, we visited Gondola Lake. Must say that we really struggled to get the correct postcode but somehow reached Gondola Lake.

Day 4 (30th May 2011)
Anner and Rohini left at around 7:00AM as they had to catch the train back to Edinburgh. While Satty and Hebbar went to drop 7 seater car, Pooja and myself cooked the breakfast and cleaned the cottage. Left the cottage at around 11:00Am. On the way back we visited Sedbury. It was a great village with many valleys. We were lucky enough to have loads of horses and gypsies around the village who were getting ready for some fairs. Had our delicious healthy lunch in Cross Key Inn. We did have great chat with the owner of the Inn, Alan who told us many stories about the Inn and the place around it. After a good lunch started our final journey back home.
