A Day with never ending walk

It's been far too long since we took a leisurely family stroll together. With the Easter holidays upon us and a desire for local adventure, we opted to embark on a lengthy trek from Maidenhead to Windsor. Though we had previously tackled this same journey about 18 months ago, we decided to switch up the route this time and include the iconic Bray Lake. Our journey began around 10:30 AM, departing from home and heading toward Windsor by way of Bray Lake.

Along the road, we delighted in the sights of biker rallies and vintage car shows. Upon arriving at Bray Lake, we were mesmerized by the bungee jumping water sports taking place. After our visit, we joined the Thames Walk, a familiar path for us, leading us to the entrance of Windsor. Once there, we treated ourselves to refreshing ice cream to cool down under the sun's first warm rays of spring. And when our bellies began to rumble, we sat down for a delicious lunch at Wagamama, as previously planned.

After our satisfying lunch, we decided to embark on the legendary "Windsor Long Walk." This iconic path had been on our to-do list for some time, and we were excited to finally make it happen. Little did we know that this walk would be a deceptive one, as we originally anticipated a 2km journey each way. However, we quickly discovered that the walk was far longer than we could have ever imagined - each way was actually a whopping 4km! To complete the entire Windsor Long Walk round trip, we ended up walking a total of 8km, feeling accomplished and exhilarated by the end of our journey.

Following our Windsor adventure, our weary boys needed yet another round of ice cream to rejuvenate themselves. As we debated our journey home, we pondered whether to take the train or walk back to Maidenhead. Eventually, we decided to make the journey on foot as much as possible, opting for a different, shorter road path. As Arjun and I grew increasingly tired, Anirudh and Satty decided to quicken their pace and retrieve the car to meet us. Thus, Arjun and I took things slow, stopping for frequent breaks as we plodded along. Eventually, Satty and Ani were several kilometers ahead of us, and they picked us up in the car. Our entire journey from 10:30 AM to 7 PM clocked in at 31km for Arjun and me, while Ani and Satty clocked in at 35km. Despite our fatigue and weariness at the journey's end, we were immensely gratified by our long walk.

This walk allowed me to check off several must-see spots within Maidenhead, including the stunning Bray Lake, the charming Bray area, and the legendary Long Walk. Each stop was more fascinating than the last, and I was thrilled to have finally experienced them all in person.
