Why did we relocate to India?

The decision to leave one's home country and move to a foreign land is never an easy one. It requires a lot of courage, determination, and hard work to build a new life in a different place. My husband and I took this big step when we moved to the UK from India in search of better career opportunities. Little did we know that this decision would lead us on a journey full of adventures and surprises.

We arrived in the UK with nothing but our hopes and dreams. It was a daunting experience to start from scratch, but we were determined to succeed. We worked hard and were able to establish ourselves in the country, finding stable jobs. Soon we welcomed our beautiful identical twin boys into the world. Being parents in a foreign country came with its own set of challenges, but we were determined to give our boys the best life possible.

However, as our twins grew up, we realized that they needed to experience Indian culture, connect with their relatives, and learn about their heritage. We knew that this could not be accomplished by just reading books or watching videos; it had to be experienced first-hand. And this made us to return to India to spend time with our families. Our boys were able to enjoy the warmth and love of their grandparents, cousins, and extended family. The kids learnt a lot during our stay in India. They learned to speak the language, understand the culture, and appreciate the customs. They explored many different areas, tried different foods, and made many new friends. They also got to spend quality time with their grandparents, which was priceless. They were immersed in the Indian culture, learning the language, customs, and traditions. It was a valuable experience that we cherish to this day.

As for my parents, they were thrilled to have their grandkids with them. They enjoyed teaching the kids about their culture, taking them to different places, and showing them the beauty of India. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to bond with their grandkids and build strong relationships.

After three years in India, we decided to return to the UK, just before the Covid-19 pandemic hit the world. However, the experience we had in India was unforgettable. It had a profound impact on my kids, and they came back to the UK with a deeper appreciation of their Indian heritage. They were able to take a piece of India with them back to the UK. We were excited to return to the country that had become our second home and to resume our lives there. We were eager to introduce our boys to the country once again, to show them all that we had discovered during our time there.

Throughout our stay in India we built a life full of experiences, friendships, and memories that we will cherish forever. Our boys have grown into confident, curious, and compassionate individuals who have been shaped by their experiences in both India and the UK. We are grateful for the opportunities that we have had and look forward to what the future holds.

Today, my kids are getting the best of both worlds. They are growing up in the UK, but they have a strong connection to their Indian roots. They have been exposed to different cultures, and this has made them more open-minded and tolerant. It has also helped them appreciate diversity and learn to respect other people's beliefs and traditions.

In conclusion, the decision to go back to India for a few years was the best thing we could have done for our family. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that we will always cherish. It not only helped my kids connect with their Indian roots but also helped them grow and learn as individuals.
